No major updates for the MacBook Pro, at least in my opinion

As always there are quite a few rumours floating around, concerning the seemingly imminent update of Apple’s MacBook Pro line of notebooks.

Some predictions are reasonable, some aren’t. The ones belonging to the first category are the introduction of the Sandy Bridge architecture to the entire line-up, significant price drops for SSD-Storage and possibly even higher resolution displays for the 13” model.

What I don’t believe is a change in form factor or material — I’m referring to the rumour that Apple will move to Liquid Metal for the casing — and neither do I believe that we’re going to see LightPeak to make its first appearance on the Mac. The introduction of major innovations like this would surely happen during a press event and so far Apple hasn’t sent out any invitations to the usual suspects.

3rd generation iPad come autumn, speculation says

The lack of reading comprehension, critical thinking skills and professionally in the tech press and blogosphere is almost disturbing.

Don’t believe me? Then read this post by John Gruber of daringfireball.net: http://daringfireball.net/2011/02/the_next_six_months

After that this post by Jim Dalrymple of loopinsight.com: http://www.loopinsight.com/2011/02/10/about-this-ipad-3/

And at last this one by Darby Lines of theangrydrunk.com: http://www.theangrydrunk.com/2011/02/10/the-incredibly-credulous-tech-press/

A guess by John Gruber was blown way out of proportion by sites and press organs I don’t want to mention here. Mr. Dalrymple and Mr. Lines really hit the nail on its head, with what they wrote about this whole situation.
